Traveling with Kids-Packing Tips

Packing up kids takes a lot of planning and being organized on vacation can be the difference between a relaxing getaway and lots of rushing around trying to locate items in your many pieces of luggage.  I was packing up my little one for our trip today and wanted to show you how I use cheap ole' ziplocs to make our daily routine while traveling a breeze.

Here are all seven days worth of outfits, PJ's, socks, bows and sweaters/jackets organized by day into ziploc baggies.  I simply press all the air of the bag and seal then while I'm traveling, pull out a bag and use the daily clothes then put the dirty clothes back in the bag at the end of the day, keeping the back neat and organized for my whole trip.

And you can see here that in one small duffel bag we have all the baby's clothes, accessories and toiletries ready to use.  This also works great in a small kids travel suitcase and can be labeled with the days so older kids can dress and organized themselves!

This system works so well for my little one that now I'm on the hunt for adult sized bags that can fit a single days outfits.

  1. I think Hefty has some zippered top plastic bags that are 2 gallon size...about 14 inches by 18 inches...may work for adult sized packing
