After many requests, questions and comments from followers, friends, and customers on tips for setting up a home binder, I decided to challenge myself (and you) to get organized this new year! I am going to go through all the potential binder section this month and revamp my own binder along the way.
We will walk through different sections and ideas, and along the way I'll be giving away FREE printables to help you get your own binder completely organized! That's right I said FREE...that offer will be good for this month only so be sure to snag yours this month as we get organized.
The best way to start any project is a little brainstorming. From now through Janary 1st, make a list of the areas of your life you need to get organized. This will help you plan your binder sections. For example, my binder needs to include:
1. To Do Lists/Calendars
2. Menu Planning
3. Cleaning
4. Finances
5. Home/Vehicle Maintenance
6. Medical/Insurance
7. Contacts/Important Dates
8. Special Event Planning
9. Home Decor/Moving
10.Travel
11. Kids/School
12. Pets
I know I'll add or revise along the way, but feel free to chime in if you think of an area of your life you'd like to see organized. The more ideas the merrier (this is your cue to comment here or on Facebook). I am so excited to dive into the project to revise my organization system this new year...how about you!

I'm in! There are a few sections you posted above that I would want in my binder. There are two in your store that I want to add to as well! Thanks for posting this challenge!
ReplyDeleteI'm adding church to mine! The kids have wednesday night verses and themes and I coordinate Sunday School for 4th and 5th grade. It helps having all of this in one spot instead of different areas! I'm fumbling weekly to find out that the theme is!
ReplyDeleteHow about a section on work. Running an Etsy shop from home and keeping it organized is always a challenge for me.
ReplyDeleteHi Christine!
DeleteShe has a Etsy organizer set that she sells in her Etsy shop. She has a few other sets in her shop that I'm keeping an eye on. :-)
I've been working on mine for the last month, after coming across your sets on Etsy and downloading the 2013 resolution set. I'm not interested in keeping pantry, equipment, etc. inventories (personally) but I am interested in other things. My sections so far:
ReplyDeleteFinances
Health/Fitness
General Household (this includes menu plans and shopping lists and cleaning pages)
But then I also work from home as an author, so I'm trying to get my act together in turning my binder into a life/work collection with pages to help out in the writing and blogging.
I also think "personal creativity" pages would be a great addition, for example a yearly to-do list of, say, knitting projects and a yarn stash tracker.
Since so much of the important part of my binder is pretty personalized, I need to sit down and actually design some basic pages for myself.
Anyway I think creativity-oriented pages would be really helpful in a binder.
I'm so in! I need help organizing my home binder. I'm just starting out! I'm thinking about adding a zipper pocket in my binder to hold receipts until I'm able to file them. I'm excited to learn how to "set up" my binder!
