How to Organize your Gift Wrap

I love the idea of a gift wrapping room, filled with shelves and containers for bows, wrapping paper, ribbons and bags.  In reality, there are few people who have the space or luxury to have a room devoted to wrapping gifts.  That said, having your gift wrapping supplies organized and in one convinent location does make wrapping gifts a whole lot easier!

I am a huge fan of using items in unconventional ways when organizing and repurposing under used spaces for organizational purposes.  So when I came across this idea for a gift wrapping station using a pantry organizer it was love at first site.   It only costs $35 and has shelves that are removable and adjustable for easy organization.  Ribbon rolls fit perfectly in the top shelf, glass containers (medium sized vases from the dollar store) can hold tape, scissors, gift wrap cutters, labels and tags in the second shelf.   You can hang folded tissue paper from the bars of a shelf so that it doesn't wrinkle and stays with like colors.  A giant rubber band (the largest, thickest size they make) is stretched between the two side bars.  Two of the middle shelves were removed and gift wrap rolls are held in place with the handy rubber band.  Gift boxes and bags are neatly folded and put in the bottom rack as well.  This also has great potential for craft rooms.

Great use of space, is inexpensive and best of all SUPER easy to organize.  When Container Store sells a gift wrap organizer cart for $150, I am so happy to have a bargain solution that doesn't take up floor space and makes use of an unused closet door.  This is the perfect item to "gift" yourself for Christmas.

  2. I think this is the exact pantry organizer that I own. I seriously just bought something else to put where it hangs---and was wondering where to move it to/how to use it. I might copy this very idea---although I have so much gift wrap I know it would not all fit. I could put some of my most used stuff in it though.
