I can’t believe I’m writing this, but our baby girl (child #5!) is due in less than two months!
Time seemed to be dragging at the beginning of this pregnancy, but now I feel the pressure of her due date looming, and all I can think is, “How did it get here so fast?!”
A couple weeks ago I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Unfortunately, I pretty much knew I was going to have it again. I had it in my last two pregnancies as well and started this pregnancy at my highest weight ever (so depressing!) so it felt like a sure thing before I was even pregnant. I guess the good news is that I was mentally prepared for it, and I’ve been eating better than ever (a habit I hope to continue after she’s born as well). The best news, however, is that this also means I get a few extra ultrasounds! While I would prefer to not have gestational diabetes, I’m choosing to look at these as the silver lining to the whole situation.
We just had an ultrasound this past Friday so I thought I’d share a sneak peek at our newest little one…
I’m happy to report that the dark spot on the side of her forehead is just her hand. She has both of her hands up by her face, which I think is really sweet. She’s also right around four pounds right now, which my body is definitely feeling. I’ve done this before, but I don’t know if it was just easier when I was younger or what, but there are days when I’m not sure how I’m going to make it another two months! I just keep reminding myself that at least I’m able to sleep through the night right now. I’m a little scared to relive those sleep deprived days.
Basically, I’m just trying to take it easy as much as possible and enjoy feeling her move, kick, and flip around while she still can.
Friday’s ultrasound also increased my desire to get things done around the house as quickly as possible! Along with planning a new bedroom for my older daughter, I now want to redo just about every other room in our house too. I was feeling almost frantic about getting stuff done when I realized I’d entered full nesting mode!
When I’m feeling a little frazzled and need to calm down and get organized, I make printables so I thought what better way to organize my thoughts than with a preparing for baby printable? I’ve absolutely fallen in love with this design so I’m sure I’ll be making more soon so those who aren’t expecting can enjoy them as well.

Next week I’ll be sharing more about exactly what I’m writing on my list and everything I’m hoping to squeeze into the next 6-8 weeks. I’m probably being a little too ambitious and optimistic, but what’s new, right? Biting off more than I can chew seems to be my favorite hobby.
What are/were your “must do” tasks before having a baby? I’d love for you to share in the comments below because I have a serious case of mommy brain right now, and I’m sure I’m accidentally leaving important things off my list.

I can’t believe this little girl is coming soon! Seems so recently when you first found out. I’ve only had two pregnancies, but I agree that the second time around is harder! It’s like our bodies just go on overdrive instead of taking its good ol’ time 🙂 These printables are adorable, too!

I’ve reached the point where it just doesn’t feel soon enough! 🙂 We can’t wait to meet her. <3
