We are gearing up to start our first year of homeschooling in just a few weeks.
Our “before school starts” to do list is slowly but surely shrinking now that
I’ve finally completed my planner and figured out our curriculum (post soon to come).
The last thing on our to do list is creating our classroom.
These beautiful rooms are giving me lots of ideas,
and I can’t wait to share our room in the coming weeks.
So inspiring! I get intimidated about the idea of homeschooling – we’re still on the fence – but these rooms are so inspiring it makes me think even I could do it 🙂
I’m sure you could do it, Kelly! As for these rooms, they might be too inspiring haha. I just started tearing down wallpaper in hopes of creating my own room. Fingers crossed it turns out well. 🙂
I can’t wait to see yours! Best of luck on your first year!
Thanks, Kate! We’re excited (and a little nervous) to get started.
The one with the 5 little white IKEA stools under the chalkboard, I DIE!
Thank you for linking up at Skip The Housework Saturdays! I’m sharing this post on FB on Thursday! http://www.facebook.com/reasonstoskipthehousework
Smiles!
Melanie :)
Thanks, Melanie! 🙂
Wow some of these rooms are pretty amazing!
Beautiful. aren’t they!
So many beautiful schoolrooms… so many great ideas… We are finding that we “school” all over the house, but it is nice to have the supplies all organized in one place if possible. I’m sure yours will turn out lovely… and may much learning take place there this year. Have a great start to your school year. 🙂
Thanks1 I have a feeling we’ll be schooling all over the house too, but you’re exactly right; it’ll be great to have it all stored in one place. 🙂
Such beautiful homeschool rooms! Love all of the neat ideas! Thanks for sharing.
Those are beautiful! I especially love those chalkboards. I’m trying to find a way to incorporate one in our “classroom.”
So inspiring. I’m in the process of painting and preparing my daughter’s school room, so great to see some ideas.
I hope you’ll share pictures when you’re finished. I’m having a hard time figuring out where we’ll have our room or if we’ll have one at all (lucky problem to have, I know, but still confusing). What color did you go with?
Loving all of these lovely rooms!! Great inspiration!!!!! Thanks for sharing. Glad to find your blog through the link-up!!!
Thanks, Leslie. Aren’t they beautiful. The only problem, they might be setting my standards a little high. 🙂
Your post, and these amazing rooms, inspired me to write about our preschool homeschool space and give a little tour. We’ve been using it for two years now and love how well it functions for us. Thanks for posting and glad I found you on Motivate Me Monday.
I love seeing other people’s homeschool rooms. I hope you’ll share your post with us when you’re finished!
Those rooms look amazing! I can’t choose a fav. Hope homeschooling goes well! Thanks for sharing at Home Matters Linky party!
These are gorgeous, I’m so jealous !!! Let me go through the pictures again!
These are so nice! Really great inspirations indeed!
Great post! I’m almost finished to set up my kids play and art room. If find that one wall is still a little empty and the books are not that accessible… So I love the idea in the second last pic with the book holder screw on the wall. Anybody knows what they used in that pic? or a similar DIY idea for book display on the wall? Thanks for your ideas!
Those are from Ikea! I actually bought some a few months ago, and they’re working out great. They’re technically picture ledges, but obviously work well for books. Here’s a link: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20126065/ I’m sure there are a bunch of DIY versions on Pinterest too. I hope that helps! Good luck filling that space 🙂
What great ideas!! Nothing like making learning fun and comfortable. Thank you for sharing with us at the #HomeMattersParty
I loved the different varieties of homeschool rooms that you featured. I was looking for some ideas to finish up our room and you gave me severeal ideas. Thanks!
Oh good! I wish I had just about every one of these rooms in my house lol. My homeschool room is still a work in progress, but I will be implementing quite a few of these ideas myself.
Where did you find the large sheet metal? I’m finding places that sell it in pieces, but I want one large piece like you have- then I can trim to fit. Creating a fun place for the kids to play with letters ect.
Hi Amy, I wish that was a room in my home! I linked to the site where I found that image so you’d want to hop over to that blog to ask. I too have looked and haven’t had any luck so if you find out please let me know. 🙂
You can try buying one from a heating and air conditioning company. That is how they buy them to make duct work.
You have shared beautiful, creative, colorful places for home learning.
Thank you for sharing this with us at Thoughts of Home.
Just started my 1st year of homeschooling. My son is in the 8th grade & would love to have some lockers like the ones pictured above but they are SO expensive! Where can I get inexpensive used ones that we can paint ourselves?
Congratulations on your first year of homeschooling! You may have luck on something like craigslist or a facebook sales group. I’d probably also keep my eye open for a school or factory/business liquidation sale. You may be able to score some lockers for a fraction of what the new ones cost.
Beautifully designed homeschool rooms. 🙂 Thank you sharing the ideas!
Love these ideas, especially the rooms with chalkboards. Thanks for sharing these!
These are so amazing rooms, I am quite inspired by these ideas.
I’m so happy to hear that! I thought they were pretty amazing too 🙂
Really beautiful room ideas.
Thank you!
