This past Saturday, I shared my new (possibly crazy) idea of completely redoing my daughter's bedroom before baby #5 arrives in less than two months. There were lots of scary and unattractive pictures, which were hard to share, but at least they'll make the afters look better, I guess. My daughter's room is one long, narrow rectangle. It's around 10 1/2 by 29 feet with absolutely no storage. Fun times. It's technically what would be referred to as a "bonus room" because it's over the garage ...Continue Reading
Preparing for Baby (and free printables!)
I can't believe I'm writing this, but our baby girl (child #5!) is due in less than two months! Time seemed to be dragging at the beginning of this pregnancy, but now I feel the pressure of her due date looming, and all I can think is, "How did it get here so fast?!" A couple weeks ago I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Unfortunately, I pretty much knew I was going to have it again. I had it in my last two pregnancies as well and started this pregnancy at my highest weight ever (so ...Continue Reading
Creating a Big Girl Bedroom (One Room Challenge, Week 1)
I am very excited (and a little scared) to be taking on this next project. As you probably already know, I focus a lot on my need to declutter and organize, but decorating rarely ever gets done. It's hard impossible to decorate and create beautiful rooms around clutter! However, I'm determined to create a more beautiful, organized home, and what better way than with an ambitious challenge?! ...Continue Reading
2017 Calendar Free Printable
It feels crazy to write this, but the new year is just around the corner! I can't even believe it! Seriously, where have the first nine months of 2016 gone? I love fall, and the start of a new school year is almost like a mini New Year's to me. It's a chance for me to reevaluate my goals and honestly assess how much (or little) I've achieved. ...Continue Reading
Bedroom Makeover for a Special Teenage Boy
A couple months ago I set an ambitious goal for myself. I wanted to do a complete bedroom makeover for my fourteen year old son while he was away for summer camp. I had only two weeks to buy what I needed, paint, and get everything put back into place before he got home. To some, two weeks may sound like a lot of time, but more than half of that was spent just waiting for everything to arrive so once it did I wasn't sure I'd be able to get everything done. My husband and I ended up working ...Continue Reading
Why Decluttering a Big Room can be a Huge Mistake
I'm so excited for today!! I've been prepping and planning for months, and for a while it felt like this day would never come. It's been a good reminder of how my poor four year old feels about his upcoming birthday ("It's taking forreevver!"), but today's the day! ...Continue Reading

4 Signs You Have Become Clutter Blind
People tend to be creatures of habit, and I'm no exception. The longer I live in a situation, the less able I am to see it from an outsider's perspective, and this was especially true of my home. One day I realized that I had become completely clutter blind. ...Continue Reading
Command Center Organization and Inspiration
One of the greatest things we've done in our home to tackle paper is making a family command center. Having one location for all of our everyday needs has been a huge help in keeping things organized and on track. A command center usually has a monthly calendar, a section for sorting paperwork, and some storage space, but every family's command center will be different based on that family's needs. I have all of those things in our command center along with a place to store our keys, our family ...Continue Reading
